Kevin Ron brings a rare combination of academic grounding and hands-on mastery to every project at Deeproot Gardens. With a background in Urban Planning, Kevin's path into the landscape industry began the way the best ones often do — in the field, watering plants and learning the land from the ground up.

​From there, he joined a construction crew and never looked back. His work ethic and sharp instincts propelled him quickly through the ranks — from crewmember to supervisor, superintendent, and into senior-level construction management — before ultimately leading him to co-found Deeproot Gardens. Every role along the way added a new layer of expertise, and Kevin has carried every lesson forward with intention.

​Today, Kevin brings that same drive to everything he builds: an eye for detail developed in the field, a systems thinker's mind shaped by years in planning and construction management, and a genuine love for the craft of landscape design and installation. He doesn't just oversee projects — he understands them from the roots up.
Sky DeTogne
Co-Founder
Sky DeTogne, RLA always knew landscape architecture was the path. After earning a degree from Purdue University, Sky became a registered Landscape Architect in both Wisconsin and Illinois — and then got to work building the kind of career that can't be learned in a classroom alone.

Starting out at a small design-build firm, Sky quickly found herself drawn into the world of construction project management. Those years spent running large-scale residential construction jobs proved to be some of the most formative of her career — fast-paced, demanding, and exactly the kind of environment where deep industry knowledge is forged. From there, Sky returned to her design roots, moving into sales and design before finding her place alongside Kevin at Deeproot Gardens.

Today, Sky leads client-facing design work at Deeproot with a perspective that's genuinely rare in the industry: the creative eye of a trained landscape architect, the practical fluency of a seasoned construction manager, and the relationship-driven approach of someone who has sat on every side of the table. She knows this industry inside and out — and it shows in every plan she draws and every client she works with.
